    Bingo glossary



    Admission - The requirement to be able to enter the bingo hall and play the bingo game.

    Admission Packet - This forms the least amount of cards that a player needs to purchase at the time of admission. He needs to pay a price for this packet which contains three to six cards for every regular game, and may also contain some special games. The content of the packet varies from place to place

    After Game - After a regular session of play a game is played which termed as after game.

    Ball Gate - It forms the part of the ball dispensing machine. It has a flap which makes the top of the ball pass under to enter the main playing area.

    Ball Lifter - The technique used to raise the ball from beneath the playfield to the ball shooter tip.

    Ball Runway - It is a channel where the ball is highlighted by the ball shooter when entered to play the main field area.

    Ball Shooter - The ball shooter has a rubber tip which is used to load the ball in the main area. It forms a piston like structure.

    Basket Bingo - The game of bingo where Basket prize is given.

    Bingo Board - An electronic display device that shows the bingo numbers. It shows the individual numbers when they are called each time.

    Bingo Books/Booklets - Bingo game offers its players with colored bingo sheets/cards which are made together to form a booklet. The booklet varies for the each game at a bingo session. They are usually arranged in a right order.

    Bingo Card - Bingo card has 24 numbered spaces. It also has one free space, with which you play BINGO. The bingo numbers are assigned at random on each card and are arranged in five columns of five numbers each by five rows. Hard cards and Flimsy cards have a series of number printed on them. The numbers in the B column are between 1 and 15, in the I column between 16 and 30, in the N column (containing four numbers and the free space) between 31 and 45, in the G column between 46 and 60, and in the O column between 61 and 75. Players have thousands of unique (unduplicated) cards to choose from. Some manufacturers print unduplicated series of 6,000 cards. There are also series of 9,000 cards available.

    Bingo Marker - The marker used to cover the number on a bingo card. It is usually made of ink.

    Blackout - (Also, Coverall) A pattern where you must cover the whole card to win. Usually 50 to 60 of the 75 bingo numbers have to be called to cover all the numbers on a card. But blackouts in as few as 43 numbers have been recorded.

    Blower - A pipe like device that mixes the bingo balls and reaches the caller who declares the number and displays it on a bingo card.

    Bonanza Bingo - It is usually played as the 13th game of the session. Forty-five numbers are drawn before the session and players mark them on separate cards and set aside. It forms a progressive jackpot game and an additional fee of $1 is required. The jackpot of the game is determined by the sales of the cards by the house.

    Breakopen - The breakopen area of the card is covered to conceal a number, symbol or letters. These are already given to advance winners. It forms a multiply card completely from paper or paper products

    Buy-in - When bingo cards are converted into cash it is called buy in. It usually refers to buying bingo cards during entry.

    Caller - The person who is responsible for calling out the bingo numbers as they are drawn.

    Cash-In-Prize - The prize taken from the money paid in. It forms the ultimate prize where money forms the cash payout.

    Casino Night (Also, Vegas Night) - An event held for a specific period of time (generally beginning in the afternoon and ending by midnight) during which a qualified organization is entitled to hold casino-style gaming events.     Four Corners - In this pattern a player needs to cover the corner of the card. If he gets those four numbers, he wins.

    Free Space - It’s usually the center of the card where there is no number written on it. The card bears resemblance with the wild cards or the joker. This can lead to your winning ways.

    Game Board, Gameboard - The display made to show the pattern that a player needs to achieve in order to win that game. Game board looks like bingo card and shows what variation of bingo a person is playing on that particular game on the program

    Game Room - the rooms which are made to play online games. The online gaming sites mainly divide the players into different game rooms.

    G.T.I., T.E.D. - The device is used to play multiple pack at one time. The electronic device allows a player to play the game rental free.

    Late Night Bingo (Also, Moonlight Bingo) - The bingo session usually starts at late night, usually about 10:00 pm. This late night session is termed as Late Night Bingo.

    Lucky Jar (or Cookie Jar) - Cookie jar contains cookies and forms the main item for a person. Similarly the jar with cash is termed as Luck/Cookie Jar. The player who wins the win the contents of the lucky jar the person has bingo on the lucky number.     Main Stage Bingo - This forms the main session of bingo, and this event said to draw the maximum customers.

    Money Ball - A number that makes a player’s winning chances double if bingo is hit on that number before the game.

    Multiple Winners - When two or more players bingo at the same time. When this situation arises the cash prize is divided among them. Suppose there are two players so each player would get $250 each in $500 game

    Mushroom - A group of bingo displays which takes its name from its shape

    On - A player is often said to be On when one or more cards the player is playing lacks only one number for a bingo.

    On The Way - The game which makes way for the blackout games. It is played before the blackout game and used by the same card. A preliminary game is played and more numbers are called until there is a blackout.

    Pattern - Pattern refers to the shape a player needs to cover on his card with called out numbers. Pattern can be called in as straight line; horizontal, vertical and diagonal.

    Parti - Parti is the short form of the word participation bingo. It a game where the game resembles lot with slot bingo or cash bingo and the cash prize depends on the count of the players. The common forms of the parti bingo are inlaid cards and hand-held shutter boards.
